Q. David Bowers has collected, studied, and enjoyed automatic musical instruments, beginning in 1960. In the intervening years he has written several books on the subject, including A Guide Book of Automatic Musical Instruments (1966), Put Another Nickel In (1968), Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments (1971), and Treasures of Mechanical Music (co-authored with Arthur A. Reblitz, 1981). He has contributed many articles to the journals of the Musical Box Society International and AMICA (Automatic Musical Instrument Collectors Association), and is one of just four recipients of the Musical Box Society International’s Lifetime Service Award. The author, whose main business over the years has been as a dealer in rare coins, has traveled extensively through America and Europe seeking information relating to automatic musical instruments.

Classified Advertising: $0.20/word with a $5.00 minimum for AMICA Members. Non-members may advertise double the member rate ($10.00 minimum). Because of the low cost of advertising we're unable to provide proof copies or "Tear Sheets").

  • Photographs or half-tones are $15.00 each.
  • Loose Sheet or Insert Advertising: Please inquire to the Publisher.
  • We recommend that display advertisers supply camera-ready copy. Copy that is oversized or undersized will be changed to correct size at your expense. We can prepare advertisements from your suggested layout at cost.

Payment: U.S. Funds must accompany ad order. Make check payable to AMICA INTERNATIONAL. Typesetting and layout size alterations charges will be billed.

DEADLINES: Submissions must be received no later than the first of the odd months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sept, Nov). The Bulletin will be mailed the first week of the even months.
